    Pain in the bottoms of the feet near the heels can be a few things. Plantar fasciitis is pretty common and pain is usually on the inside of the heel not quite in the center of the heel more toward the front of the foot. This pain usually significant during the very first few steps out of bed in the morning. Heel spurs can also be a source for pain and in fact may be a cause or the result of plantar fasciitis. Heel spurs can be identified on an x-ray. A podiatrist or an orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle would be able to diagnose your condition and recommend treatment which usually is conservative consisting of specific physical therapy  stretching or a local cortisone injection in the area of the plantar fascia attachment.
