Get to know Plastic Surgeon Dr. Ralph R. Garramone Jr., who serves patients in Fort Myers, Florida.

Remarkable and well-respected plastic surgeon, Dr. Garramone Jr., has been a member of the Fort Myers medical community since 2000. Since that time, he has developed a reputation for excellence, with patients from across the United States and abroad flying in for world-class care and results. 

Some of the services that the doctor offers at his private practice include: face (surgical procedures and injectables), body (surgical and non-surgical procedures), breast (breast augmentation, breast reduction, mommy makeover, etc.), and skin treatments. His medical approach is centered on caring for his patients as if they were his family or a close personal friend.

After graduating cum laude from Bucknell University in 1983 with dual bachelor’s degrees in English and Biology, Dr. Garramone Jr. earned his medical degree from New York Medical College in 1987. Over the course of the next decade, he distinguished himself as a practitioner, researcher, and contributing author in a range of respected medical journals.

In 1993, he completed a six-year residency in general surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine/Hartford Hospital, where he earned the prestigious Murray-Helig Award for Excellence in Research, and was named the Outstanding Surgical Resident. He continued on to fulfill his plastic surgery residency requirements at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital from 1993 to 1995. While at Rhode Island Hospital, he also served on the surgical faculty at Brown University.

Furthering his training, Dr. Garramone Jr. earned fellowships in craniofacial surgery at Primary Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, and in hand surgery at the Institute for Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at New York University Medical Center. He entered private practice in 1997 in Salt Lake City, while serving as Co-Director of the Craniofacial Fellowship Program at Primary Children’s Medical Center. During this time, he also served on the clinical faculty at the University of Utah School of Medicine in the Division of Plastic Surgery.

Encompassing exceptional knowledge and expertise in his speciality, he is board-certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). The mission of the ABPS is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification, and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.

A widely published journal author and a frequent presenter at medical conferences and symposia, Dr. Garramone Jr. is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons (Fellow), the American Cleft Palate – Craniofacial Association, the American Medical Association, the Lee County Medical Society, the Florida Medical Association, and the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Plastic surgery is a surgical specialty involving the restoration, reconstruction, or alteration of the human body. It can be divided into two main categories – reconstructive surgery and cosmetic surgery. A plastic surgeon’s primary responsibility is performing surgical and non-surgical procedures, and they use a variety of reparative and reconstructive techniques to get the job done.

An authority in his field, Dr. Garramone Jr. has been the recipient of several awards and honors, including: Castle Connolly Medical Ltd- “Top Doctors®” Recognition (2010 – 2017), Florida Weekly’s Best (2015, 2016), and The News-Press, The Best of Southwest Florida (2014 – 2017).
