A 1971 graduate of Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, Dr. Schwimmer went on to perform his residency in pediatrics at Montefiore Medical Center from 1971 to 1974. For the next two years physicians in the Air Force. 

Two years later, in 1976, he attained board certification in pediatrics through the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Licensed to practice medicine by the state of New York, Dr. Schwimmer is affiliated with Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, Maimonides Medical Center, and NYU Langone Health.
