Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Chatlos graduated with his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1978. He then went on to perform his residency in pediatrics at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1980, his residency in psychiatry at the New York University School of Medicine in 1982, and his residency in psychiatry at New York Presbyterian Hospital (Columbia Campus)/New York State Psychiatric Institute in 1985.
Excelling in his field, the doctor is triple board-certified in psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry & child psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.
Furthermore, he is board-certified in addiction medicine by the American Board of Addiction Medicine.
A Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (DLFAPA), Dr. Chatlos is also an active member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine and a Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
