Leading Gynecologic Oncologist to Enhance Patient Care and Advance Research in Florida
Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Bradley J. Monk, a board-certified gynecologic oncologist, as the Medical Director of the Late-Stage Clinical Research Program at the FCS West Palm Beach location. Dr. Monk brings a wealth of experience in clinical research and patient care, solidifying FCS’s commitment to providing cutting-edge cancer treatment and research opportunities.
Prior to joining FCS in 2024, Dr. Monk served as director and principal investigator for HonorHealth at the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he also served as the site research leader for Sarah Cannon Research Institute. Among his numerous academic appointments, he most recently served as a professor on the Clinical Scholar Track at The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix.
After receiving his Medical Degree, graduating at the top of his class, from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, Dr. Monk completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of California, Los Angeles and was the recipient of two fellowships, one in gynecologic oncology and one in medical genetics.
Board certified in gynecologic oncology and recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Monk is a Fellow of several prestigious organizations, including the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Gynecological and Obstetrical Society, and the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. In addition, he is a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology, the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists, the Western Association of Gynecologic Oncology, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Association for Cancer Research, the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics, the Daniel Morton Society, and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
Dr. Monk has an extensive background in clinical research, having served as a principal investigator for numerous groundbreaking studies focused on the prevention and treatment of gynecologic cancers. His leadership in establishing clinical research programs in community oncology settings has been pivotal in advancing treatment options and improving patient outcomes. As a co-founder of the GOG-Partners (GOG-P) Foundation®, Dr. Monk has played a significant role in creating a national gynecologic clinical trials network, furthering his dedication to the advancement of scientific research in gynecologic malignancies.
With over 400 peer-reviewed articles and 35 book chapters to his name, Dr. Monk is recognized as a leading authority in his field. His presentations at national and international forums have influenced research and treatment protocols globally. Notably, he has received the Ernst Wertheim Award for his exceptional research in cervical cancer, underscoring his commitment to the fight against gynecologic malignancies.
For five consecutive years, Dr. Monk has been celebrated as one of Arizona’s “Top Doctors” by PHOENIX magazine, and in 2022, he earned the coveted Castle Connolly Top Doctor award in Gynecologic Oncology.
