After relocating to the United States, she completed her residency in internal medicine at the Cook County Hospital in 2000. Finally, she completed her fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at the Loyola University Medical Center - Stritch School of Medicine in 2002.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology (FACE), the doctor is board-certified in endocrinology, diabetes & metabolism, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
