After an internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, he completed his residency training in ophthalmology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Prior to moving with his family to Augusta in 1990, he worked at his private practice in Gainesville, Georgia, which he opened in 1987. In addition, he was a Clinical Instructor for the Emory University Department of Ophthalmology at the Atlanta VA Hospital.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, he is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology, an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America.
