Holding an academic title, he is an Assistant Professor within the Department of Anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine.

Educated in Peru, Dr. Velazco graduated with his medical degree from the National University of San Marcos in 1996. He then relocated to the United States, performing his residency in internal medicine at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in New York in 2002, and his fellowship in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple in 2012.

With over three decades of experience, the doctor is board-certified in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
