Get to know Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Alexander David Davis, who serves patients throughout the State of New Hampshire.

A board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Davis provides care for adults and adolescents with injuries of the bones, joints and muscles. He is affiliated with Access Sports Medicine and Orthopedics, seeing patients at their offices in Exeter and Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

The doctor specializes in the care of sports-related injuries, with a particular focus on injuries of the shoulder, hip and knee. His clinical practice includes arthroscopic surgery with a focus on ACL reconstructions, meniscus repairs, shoulder dislocations, rotator cuff repairs and labrum repairs of the shoulder and hip. He also specializes in hip preservation using the latest techniques in hip arthroscopic surgery.

With a broad educational background, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physiological Science from the University of California, Los Angeles, and received his medical degree from the Loma Linda University School of Medicine. He performed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Boston University School of Medicine and completed his surgical training with a fellowship in sports medicine at New England Baptist Hospital.

Distinguished as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (FAAOS), Dr. Davis is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

Among his other roles, he has worked as an assistant team physician for the Boston Celtics, Tufts University football and hockey programs, and is currently a team physician for several New Hampshire Seacoast high schools.

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.
