Can bonded teeth be whitened?
Only the exposed natural tooth structure of a tooth can be whitened. Bonding materials can pick up surface staining which can be removed via polishing but the original color of the bonding cannot be whitened. For this reason, most dentists recommend whitening the teeth prior to cosmetic bonding, so that the color chosen will be the whitest shade of your natural teeth. Ravi Jay Rajanna, DMD, MSD READ MORE
Can you drink coffee after dental bonding?
Sure you can. Bonding can take about 24 hours to reach full strength, but as long as you're not numb, it will be safe to drink anything (hot or cold) and won't pick up extra stains. READ MORE

“I was inspired to become an orthodontist after my own positive experience with braces. As a teenager with crooked teeth, I was embarrassed to smile, which affected my mood, confidence, and the personality I projected. Enhancing my smile with braces gave me more confidence and allowed me to be the person I wanted to be. Having experienced the transformative effects of orthodontics myself, practicing as an orthodontist is especially gratifying for me…practicing in my home town of Kansas City makes it that much more special” as stated by Dr. Rajanna.
A Kansas City native, he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from the Boston University School of Dental Medicine, after which he completed his Certificate in Orthodontic & Dentofacial Orthopedics and his Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) degree from the Colorado University School of Dental Medicine.

Orthodontics is a specialty of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis, prevention, and correction of malpositioned teeth and jaws. As an orthodontist, Dr. Grove is responsible for identifying problems with the positioning of a patient’s teeth and with their oral development. He utilizes the most advanced procedures and equipment available to ensure that every patient achieves a healthy and beautiful smile.
Outside of practicing orthodontics, Dr. Rajanna enjoys participating in a variety of sports (softball, tennis, snowboarding, and kickball) and is a lifelong fan of the Royals and Chiefs. He enjoys DIY home improvement and spending time with his daughter, Olivia.
A few interesting facts about him are that his favorite superhero is the Hulk, his pet peeve is the lights being left on, his biggest fear is being trapped in an avalanche, and his favorite place to vacation is anywhere in the Caribbean.
