Get to know Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. William Barrett Bowlin, who serves patients in San Angelo and Big Spring, Texas.

Dr. Bowlin is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who is licensed to practice medicine in Texas. He sees patients at Shannon Clinic Jackson & Shannon Clinic Big Spring.

Educated in the United States, Dr. Bowlin graduated with his undergraduate degree from Angelo State University in Texas. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine.

Furthering his training, he performed his residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, and his fellowship at Lake Tahoe Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.

As a testament to his success, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system.
