Specializing in sports medicine, Dr. Barbadimos is a specialist in the field of pain management & physical medicine and rehabilitation. He joined Stamford Health Medical Group – Orthopedic and Spine Institute in 2001, exclusively practicing acute and chronic pain management, electro diagnosis, epidural injections, prolotherapy, sacroiliac and facet joint injections, and medical acupuncture.
In 1997, he joined the faculty at Albert Einstein University College of Medicine as an attending physician in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and still maintains the rank of Assistant Clinical Professor. As Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation at Montefiore, he published a paper in the American Journal of PM&R, in addition to other case studies that have been written and presented.
In regards to his educational background, Dr. Barbadimos obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Rome in 1980. He then went on to earn his Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation from Long Island University in 1983, and his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in 1990.
Furthering his training, he performed his residency in internal medicine at Danbury Hospital in 1994, and an additional residency in physical medicine & rehabilitation at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1997.
Excelling in treating chronic and acute pain, Dr. Barbadimos is board-certified in pain medicine & physical medicine and rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR). The mission of the ABPMR is to serve the public by improving the quality of patient care in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
In order to stay up to date in his field, he remains an active member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture, and the American Association of Orthopedic Medicine.
