Born in Dallas, Texas and raised in Wisconsin, Dr. Rasmussen attended Niagara University in Niagara Falls, NY where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in preparation for dental school, graduating summa cum laude.
,She went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, cum laude, from the State University of New York at Buffalo (SUNY Buffalo).. The School of Dental Medicine is one of only two public dental schools in the state of New York. She continued her training with a General Practice Residency, in which she was chosen to be Chief Resident at University Hospital in Birmingham Alabama (UAB), a major center for clinical research and the home of some of the top medical programs in America. .
Dr. Rasmussen gained a Fellowship at the prestigious Academy of General Dentistry in Chicago, Illinois. Pursuing Fellowship exposed her to a vast body of knowledge across all dental disciplines. Although completing a Fellowship is challenging, the drive for excellence and continual improvement in dental practice is embodied in the experience.”
Dr. Rasmussen is a member of several professional organizations including serving in leadership positions for the ADA, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, Academy of Osseointegration, Florida Dental Association, West Coast Dental Association and Hillsborough County Dental Association.
The recipient of multiple awards and accolades, Dr. Rasmussen was honored to receive the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Award and the Hillsborough Education Foundation Business Partnership Award.
After migrating from the cold winters of Wisconsin, dr. Rasmussen was named Mrs. Florida, USA. She also cares deeply about her community volunteering for Project I Can for more than 25 years .
