Pertaining to his educational pursuits, he graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Michigan in 1974,  completed a General Practice residency at The University of Connecticut, School of Dental Medicine in 1975, and received his Endodontics specialty training  and MS. from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1977. He is board-certified by the American Board of Endodontics and a fellow of the American College of Endodontics.

Dr. Block has many years of private practice experience and has also served on the faculty at several dental schools. He previously served as a Professor and Chairman of a Endodontics department at a major US dental school.

He is recognized in his field for his numerous publications and  Continuing Education programs.

Endodontics is the dental specialty concerned with the study and treatment of the infected and inflamed dental pulp.
