Pima Heart and Vascular is the largest locally owned and operated cardiovascular practice in Arizona. “I enjoy the practice of cardiology because unlike many other fields in medicine, we can usually find answers for patients’ problems and offer treatment options that are effective. The advances in cardiology that I have witnessed over the course of my career are extraordinary and the field continues to evolve” expressed Dr. Algeo.

Graduating with his medical degree from the University of California Davis School of Medicine in 1977, he went on to perform his internship and residency in internal medicine at Boston City Hospital in 1978 and 1980, respectively. Three years later, in 1983, he completed his fellowship in cardiology at the University of Arizona.

The doctor is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, critical care medicine, and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Serving as the Medical Director of the Northwest Medical Center Cardiac Cath Laboratory, Dr. Algeo is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the Arizona Medical Association.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system.
