  • Are there any risks involved with a LASIK surgery?

Not everyone is a good candidate for LASIK surgery. People with keratoconus, a condition that affects the cornea (the front layer of the eye) are definitely NOT good surgical candidates for LASIK. Also, if your eye is changing, it's not a good idea. Risks of the surgery itself are quite rare and almost never serious. People with thin corneas may be better candidates for a different kind of procedure. Also, highly near-sighted eyes are not good candidates. People with farsightedness don't get the best results from LASIK either. Any surgery carries potential risks and a detailed candid conversation with your ophthalmologist is very important in making sure that you are a good candidate and the risks of surgery are outweighed by the benefits. • How can I protect my eyes while working in front of the computer for close to 8 hours a day?

There is no proven evidence that working on a computer damages your eyes in any way. Although fatigue and headaches are not uncommon if you work at a computer for many hours a day. Taking a break every hour or ten for five minutes with a stretch and looking far every for a minute or so can help reduce the fatigue. Also be sure that your chair is comfortable and your back is straight and you use an ergonomic keyboard. Glare screen can reduce the blue light and reduce fatigue. READ MORE
