After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and his medical degree from the University of Capetown, he provided medical care to the impoverished and medically underserved in shanty towns. He later came to the United States and completed his residency in internal medicine at the LAC+USC Medical Center.
Since then, Dr. Musikanth has had a medical practice in Los Angeles focusing on general internal medicine and HIV / AIDS. He has been involved in various clinical trials for new HIV treatments as both principal and sub investigator.
Professionally, he served on the Board of AIDS for AIDS for several years before the organization merged with the Serra Project to become the Alliance for Housing and Healing. He continues to serve as an advisor on the Medical Advisory committee.
