Get to know Family Practitioner, Dr. James A. Rahto, who currently serves patients in Overland Park, Kansas. 

Dr. Rahto is a board-certified family medicine physician who can be found attending to patients at the HCA Midwest Physicians College Park Family Care Center and College Park Endoscopy Center in Overland Park, Kansas. While he is well-versed in all facets of family medicine, his areas of clinical interest are GI disorders and skin disorders. He specializes in abscess incision and drainage, lipoma removal, biopsies, EGD, colonoscopy, colposcopy, EKG (electrocardiogram), immunizations (vaccinations), Pap smear,me removal, and spirometry.

Dr. Rahto received his medical degree at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, Kansas, in 1998. He then pursued his residency in family medicine at the same educational venue, i.e., the University of Kansas School of Medicine, and graduated in 2001. Dr. Rahto was featured in Castle Connolly’s Regional Top Doctors in 2014, as well as Kansas City Magazine (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021).

Subsequent to his training, Dr. Rahto received board certification in family medicine through the American Board of Family medicine (ABFM). The American Board of Family Medicine is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

Family medicine is a medical specialty within primary care that provides continuing and comprehensive health care for the individual and family across all ages, genders, diseases, and parts of the body. The specialist, who is usually a primary care physician, is named a family physician.
