About

Dr. Jan Patterson is an integrative medicine and infectious disease specialist practicing in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Patterson specializes in infections that are difficult to diagnose or unresponsive to treatments. Infectious disease specialists usually work with conditions that are not treatable by a primary physician but it is important to keep contact with the primary physician in order to receive information about the patients history and for deciding which diagnostic tests are appropriate.

Dr. Patterson also has a consultative integrative medicine practice, and works to use natural, less invasive holistic therapies integrated with conventional therapies when possible to achieve whole person health--body, mind, and spirit.  She believes in using all the tools in the toolbox for health and wellness.

She is the lead author of the book, Breath for the Soul: Self-Care Steps to Wellness, that gives evidence and practical tools for using breath work, movement, nutrition, and spirit to cope with stress, anxiety, depress, and grief. Her co-author, Phyllis Clark Nichols, writes an accompanying inspirational guide to increase spiritual awareness for dealing with the difficulties in life.
