In regards to his educational background, Dr. Bhat graduated from Calicut Medical College with first class and received the prestigious Dr. Pisharody Memorial Gold Medal in Medicine. He then relocated to the United States, performing his residency in internal medicine at NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull in 1987.

With years of experience, the doctor is board-certified in pulmonary disease, internal medicine, and critical care medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
