Dr. Peterson is on staff at Carris Health, an innovative health care system committed to reinventing health care in West Central and Southwest Minnesota. Carris Health was created in January 2018 as a partnership between Willmar’s Rice Memorial Hospital, ACMC Health and St. Cloud-based CentraCare Health. In January 2019, Redwood Area Hospital in Redwood Falls, Minn. and Family Practice Medical Center in Willmar, Minn. joined Carris Health. Carris Health is committed to strengthening health care in West Central and Southwest Minnesota by partnering with organizations that share the same passion for rural health care.

Dr. Peterson earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota. He then completed his general surgery residency at both the Sioux Falls Family Medicine Program and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Program. Additionally, Dr. Peterson is board-certified by the American Board of Family Practice and the American Board of General Surgery.
