The whole idea about PT after back surgery is to resotore/improve the stength of your back muscles and return you to your normal activitie. Initially you will just be involved in ankle pumps and heel slides, that shoule progress to abdominal contractions, heel raises, wall squats, leg raises, hamstring, hip flexor and piriformis stretches. Dr. Sen is the lead physician at Prime Regenerative & Pain Management, treating the population of Stafford, Fredericksburg, and King George, Virginia. He has more than 20 years of experience in helping patients who have neuromusculoskeletal conditions and chronic pain problems.
The philosophy of Prime Regenerative and Pain Management is to treat the whole patient and address the underlying causes of their health issues, rather than medicating to cover the symptoms. Dr. Sen and his staff use a comprehensive approach that draws on a range of modalities, such as interventional injections, pharmacotherapy, physical therapy, and regenerative medicine.
With expertise in pain medicine, physiatry, regenerative medicine and electrodiagnostic medicine, he offers services such as bone marrow aspiration using state of the art x-ray guidance, and harvesting of stem cells with cutting edge technology centrifuge devices.
Dr. Sen earned his medical degree and completed his internship at the Government Medical College of Jabalpur. After relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at Michael Reese Hospital / University of Illinois College of Medicine, and his residency in anesthesiology at Massachusetts General Hospital.
To complete his education, he pursued a fellowship in clinical decision making at New England Medical Center, and a fellowship in pain management at Caritas St. Elizabeth’s Center, Tufts University. He has held academic staff positions at both Boston University and Tufts Medical Center.
As a testament to his success, Dr. Sen is board-certified in pain management and physical medicine & rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (ABPMR). The mission of the ABPMR is to serve the public by improving the quality of patient care in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
