A California-based general pancreatic and robotic surgeon, Dr. Eghbalieh works with patients at his private practice – Southern California Multispecialty Group – seeing patients in Porter Ranch, Valencia, Sherman Oaks, and Beverly Hills areas.

Southern California Multispeciality Center is a renowned surgical practice located in the heart of the San Fernando Valley that offers specialty services in the area of general surgery, vascular surgery and interventional radiology. The collaborative practice offers a unique experience that approaches healing from a whole person perspective. They desire to optimize health and wellbeing by developing a personalized and therapeutic relationship with their patients.

Academically, Dr. Eghbalieh finished his undergraduate degree at University Of California, Irvine, and completed his medical degree at the Sackler School of Medicine through Tel Aviv University in Israel. He returned to the United States to complete his internship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, and then his residency in general surgery at Fresno Medical Center through the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Finally, he completed his medical training with a fellowship in pancreatic and hepatobiliary surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.

A Fellow of the American College of Surgery (FACS), the doctor is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

Remaining up to date in his field, Dr. Eghbalieh is an active member of the University of California, Irvine Alumni Association, the American Medical Association, the Fresno-Madera County Medical Association, the American Pancreatic Association, the Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, the California Medical Association, the American College of Physician Executives, the Clinical Robotics Surgery Association, and the American Society of Peritoneal Surface Malignancies.

Among his other roles, he currently serves as the Director of Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Surgery as well as the Director of Robotic Surgery at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center (PHCMC).  He is also the Chair of the Cancer Committee and Cancer Liaison Physician for the cancer program at PHCMC. He has an amazing passion for taking care of patients with cancer and providing them state of the art treatments utilizing a personalized multi-disciplinary plan of care.

Active in teaching the next generation of surgeons, Dr. Eghbalieh is an Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at UCSF, where he spent the last decade as Academic Faculty within the Department of Surgery. During his tenure at UCSF, he served in many roles including: Vice Chair of Surgery, Director of Robotic Surgery, Co-Director of the HPB & GI Oncology, Cancer Liaison Physician (CLP) to the Commission of Cancer, Chair of Cancer Committee, as well as the Chairman of the Executive Committee at the Community Medical Centers (CMC) in Fresno, California.

His passion for pancreas cancer has led him to serve as the Co-Chair of the Los Angeles Executive Leadership Committee for Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PANCAN). He also currently oversees and runs the only pancreas cancer patient support group in the San Fernando Valley, and one of three in all of Los Angeles.

General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland. A general surgeon performs a wide range of abdominal surgeries for many forms of intestinal and abdominal wall neoplasms, gallbladder disease, gastric and pancreatic disease. They follow the patient through critical care and surgical recovery all the way to outpatient care.

Over the years, Dr. Eghbalieh has accumulated numerous accolades, including the American Cancer Society 2012 Physician Innovation Award for his work with pancreatic cancer patients, Leukemia Lymphoma Society’s 2015 Man of the Year for Central California, as well as Outstanding Leadership Award in 2017 for his role in the CMC Cancer Committee.

In addition to serving his patients, he is an avid musician and loves to write and compose music in his spare time. Speaking multiple languages, he is fluent in English, Persian, Spanish, and Arabic.
