Hezekiah G.P. Shani, FACS, FCCP is a board-certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon who provides multidisciplinary care in all aspects of heart and chest surgery in Ohio. Dr. Shani is board certified in thoracic surgery, general surgery, and surgical critical care. To provide his patients with the best care, he offers advanced minimally invasive alternatives and traditional surgical techniques to provide his patients with the appropriate care for their condition. In regards to his education, he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and Biology from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. From there, he earned his medical degree from Makerere University, one of the oldest and most prestigious Universities in Africa. After moving to the United States, Dr. Shani completed postgraduate training with Wake Forest University, the Jewish Hospital of Cincinnati, and New Britain General Hospital. Furthering his education, he completed his fellowship cardiothoracic surgery from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. To stay up to date in his field, Dr. Shani is certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He has been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is a member of the American Heart Association. His focus is on improving his patients’ quality of life and providing individualized care to ensure optimal results. With a passion for his work, Dr. Shani is recognized for his expertise in all facets of cardiothoracic surgery. On a more personal note, Dr. Shani attributes his success to two very simple things, persistence and hard work. When he is not working, he enjoys traveling, movies, and musicals.
