A fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Veazey specializes in shoulders, knees, and sports medicine at Amarillo Bone & Joint Clinic, PLLC in Texas.

Completing his undergraduate degree at West Texas A&M University, Dr. Veazey went on to receive his medical degree from the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. He then furthered his training with a residency at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at Lubbock and a fellowship in orthopedic surgery-sports medicine at the  University of New Mexico’s Health Sciences Center.

With a passion for his profession, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

Holding fellowship status, Dr. Veazey is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (FAOS).

In addition, he is a member of several professional organizations, including the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, the American Medical Association, the Texas Orthopedic Association, the Lubbock-Garza County Medical Society, and the Christian Medical and Dental Societies.

Throughout his extensive career, Dr. Veazey has served as Division Chief of Sports Medicine and Chief Resident in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He has also served as Medical Director of Team Rehab Sports at University Medical Center in Lubbock, and as Team Physician at Texas Tech University and Lubbock Christian University.

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.
