Dr. Kate Zoumboukos was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 2012 from Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry. She is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) and member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Capital Area Dental Society (CADS), and the Academy of General Dentistry. After practicing dentistry for five years in Oregon, including serving in a management role as a dentist who both conducted her own full schedule of patient treatment and supervised the work of associate dentists, Dr. Kate sought out private family practice to have a consistent treatment relationship with patients and clinical control in order to assure excellence. Dr. Kate has pursued Continuing Education at the Kois Center in Seattle, Washington, and the Dawson Academy in St. Pete Beach, Florida. Both groups have provided a strong clinical foundation and shaped her clinical philosophy of applying the best of science in dentistry while focusing on relationship-based care. Prior to her dental career, Dr. Kate earned a full athletic scholarship to play Division I college basketball at the University of Nevada. She won numerous all-conference academic awards, and excelled as a shooting guard and team captain. She graduated from the University of Nevada in 2007 with a bachelor of science in biology and a minor in criminal justice (Honors: Distinction). Dr. Kate participates in humanitarian dental mission trips. She has worked with the Belize Mission Project (San Pedro, Belize) and the Chimaltenango, Guatemala, Humanitarian Dental Mission, hosted by Chimaltenango International Lions Club. Dr. Kate serves on the membership committee of the Capital Area Dental Society. She also mentors NCAA student athletes, and routinely speaks to local schools about careers in the dental profession. In her free time, Dr. Kate likes to attend high school football games to cheer on her coach-and-counselor husband, Peter. Together, they love chasing their two Boston terriers, Zeus and Aries, watching college sports, and crockpot cooking.
