A comprehensive ophthalmologist, Dr. Kovach is the Founder of the Kovach Eye Institute, serving patients in the Elmhurst, Naperville, South Barrington, Itasca, and Lincolnwood areas. He believes strongly in working cohesively with optometrists to ensure each patient receives comfortable and comprehensive care.
Staying at the forefront of advanced technologies, he educates his patients and allows them to make informed decisions in their eye care. He utilizes state-of-the-art surgical techniques, corneal transplants, presbyopic & astigmatic correcting alternatives to basic cataract procedures, and Wavefront Guided All Laser Custom LASIK and PRK. His other professional interests include glaucoma management, corneal eye disease management, pediatric strabismus, oculoplastics and diabetic eye disease management.
With a broad educational background, Dr. Kovach obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois, and graduated cum laude with his medical degree from the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine. Later, he completed his residency in ophthalmology at MacNeal Hospital and Loyola University Medical Center.
An authority in his field, the doctor is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology, an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America.
Continuously advancing his efforts, he is an active member of the American Association of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the International Society of Refractive Surgeons.
