With a wealth of experience, Dr. Fontana has held prestigious positions such as Managing Director of the Heart and Vascular Institute at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City and Vice Chairman of Surgery at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He has also been actively involved in academia, holding positions as Clinical Professor of Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and Professor of Surgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University.

An authority in his field, his career has been marked by numerous achievements and advancements in the field of cardiothoracic surgery. He has been a principal investigator in groundbreaking trials such as the Partner Trial of transcatheter aortic valve implantation and the CoreValve Pivotal trial.
