Willowbrook Cardiovascular Associates provide diagnostic testing and curative procedures including electrocardiography, nuclear imaging, stress testing, carotid imaging, holter monitoring, pacemaker and ICD insertion, angiogram and angioplasty, as well as peripheral arterial and venous studies. They also provide electrophysiology services, such as radiofrequency ablation of all arrhythmia, including atrial fibrillation, and ventricular tachycardia, diagnostic electrophysiology studies, tilt table test, left atrial appendage closure devices, and extended arrhythmia monitoring.
Armed with a BS degree in Biology from Iowa State University and a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Iowa , Dr. Duchman attended the University of South Dakota School of Medicine & Health Science in Vermillion, SD, and gained his medical degree in 1994. He then completed his internship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, in 1995, followed by his internal medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, in 1997. He is fellowship-trained in cardiology /heart failure and transplant at Baylor College of Medicine (2000), as well as interventional cardiology at the Texas Heart Institute at Baylor College of Medicine (2001), where he served as Chief Interventional Cardiology fellow.
Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in internal medicine, through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The American Board of Internal Medicine is a 501 nonprofit, self-appointed physician-evaluation organization that certifies physicians practicing internal medicine and its subspecialties.
Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and electrophysiology.
