Specializing in Cerebrovascular Disease, Neurocritical Care, and Medical Education, Dr. Crandall Advances Patient Care and Research

A board-certified neurologist at Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC), Dr. Crandall is making significant strides in the field of neurology with her expertise in cerebrovascular disease, neurocritical care, and brain injury. Her commitment to enhancing patient care both in and out of the hospital, coupled with her dedication to clinical neurology research, has positioned her as a leader in the medical community.

With a comprehensive background in healthcare and education, she is currently serving as the Graduate Medical Education (GME) liaison for the Internal Medicine and Behavioral Medicine residents at CAMC. Additionally, she holds pivotal roles as the Neurology Clerkship Director and Program Director for the neurology residency program, which welcomed its inaugural classes in 2023.

Graduating with honors from California State University and Chapman University, Dr. Crandall went on to earn her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kansas City University. She furthered her education by completing an Executive MBA program at the Bloch School of Management and is currently pursuing a Master of Education for Health Professions at Johns Hopkins University.

As an esteemed lecturer for the Neuroscience Institute, she has delivered impactful presentations at prestigious events such as the Advances in Neurology and Stroke Symposiums. Her expertise extends to clinical research areas including acute stroke intervention, secondary stroke prevention, and neuroprotection in acute ischemic stroke.

Prior to her tenure at CAMC, Dr. Crandall held academic positions at several esteemed institutions, where she received accolades for her exceptional teaching skills. Her commitment to medical education is evident through her clinical preceptor work and lectures for medical students and residents.

Beyond her professional achievements, she finds joy in hobbies such as reading, gardening, beekeeping, and volunteering. Her multifaceted approach to life and work embodies her dedication to holistic well-being and exemplary patient care.
