Get to know Cardiologist Dr. Masroor A. Khan, who serves patients in Houston, Texas.

As the Founder of Cardiac Specialists Of Houston, Dr. Khan provides the cardiovascular care that he would want his own family members to receive. Decisions and actions that he takes, is centered on delivering the best cardiology service for his patients.

He finds no greater reward than to have the opportunity to make a difference in the health and quality of life of his patients. Dr. Khan believes that the highest quality of care is delivered in an environment in which, serving patients and their referring physicians as well as meeting their needs, is the highest goal.

His specialized expertise lies in the fields of preventive cardiology, coronary and peripheral angiography, as well as angioplasty and stenting. 

At Dr. Khan’s cardiology clinic, patients are not only provided with high quality preventative cardiac care, but also with patient education, which is critical to the long term success of any patient. Time is spent with the patients to ensure that they and their families understand the cardiovascular problem at hand, diagnostic test, and different treatment options.

Situated in the heart of the Texas Medical Center, Dr. Khan’s office focuses primarily on consultative cardiology with a strong emphasis on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. In addition to offering outpatient consultations, Dr. Khan provides advanced cardiac inpatient care within the Texas Medical Center Hospitals, including Houston Methodist Hospital, and HCA Houston Medical Center Hospital.

Educated in Pakistan, Dr. Khan graduated from Dow Medical College in the class of 1990. Following this, he relocated to the United States, completing his residency in internal medicine at Wayne State University School of Medicine from 1992 to 1995. Subsequently, he pursued a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Advocate Health Care (Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center) from 1995 to 1998 and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) from 1998 to 2000. 

Helping patients maintain a heart-healthy life, Dr. Khan is board certified in interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Furthermore, he is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology by the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons, and in nuclear cardiology by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology.

Holding fellowship status, Dr. Khan is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI).

Since 2023, he has been serving as an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at Texas A&M School of Medicine.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology.
