Get to know Internist Dr. Daniel Ward, who serves patients in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Ward is a specialist in the field of internal medicine and Hospice Medical Director Certified (HMDC). He has been the Medical Director of Compassus in Colorado Springs, Colorado since 2010.
With a focus on hospice care and palliative care, he helps people with a serious illness feel better, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Care is coordinated and includes: managing pain and other symptoms to a patient’s preferred level; medical support for shortness of breath; help with fatigue and sleep problems; managing nausea, loss of appetite or constipation; reducing anxiety and depression; and spiritual care and medical social services for the entire family.
Academically, Dr. Ward graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1998. He then went on to serve his residency in internal medicine at Maine Medical Center in 2001.
Practicing in the acute rehabilitation setting and as a hospitalist for rural Colorado hospitals, he is affiliated with Saint Thomas More Hospital and Castle Rock Adventist Hospital.
