River Oaks Primary Care was founded by Dr. Nazem Alhusein in 1999 and made to develop relationships built on trust with patients in the community. Consistently providing excellent health services to the local community and since then, they have grown and expanded to a multi-specialty health clinic with a team of doctors and nurses dedicated to healing and ensuring comfort in patients.

 

Born and raised in the Detroit Metropolitan area, Dr. Asbahi received his high school diploma from Walled Lake Western High School, and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Subsequently, he earned his medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine, graduating with highest honors.

 

After the completion of medical school, he returned home to complete his residency training at the Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center Internal Medicine program. During his residency he was fortunate to train under many well known and renowned physicians.

 

In pursuit of clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

 

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists.
