After earning his undergraduate degree from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana Dr. True went on to obtain his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati, where he also completed his internship and residency.

Following his training, he became board-certified through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, which is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons, as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.
