Committed to Improving Mental Health Services in the Correctional System and Beyond

A prominent psychiatrist, Dr. Baskin is the Division Director of Correctional Medicine at MetroHealth in Cleveland, Ohio. Since joining MetroHealth in 2019, he has been instrumental in advancing the field of psychiatry within the correctional healthcare system.

Academically, his academic journey began at Ohio State University College of Medicine & Public Health, where he obtained his MD degree. He further honed his skills through residency training at Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic-Boston and McLean Hospital, specializing in general psychiatry and neuropsychiatry, respectively. His passion for understanding the intricate workings of the human mind led him to pursue fellowships in psychodynamic psychotherapy at Massachusetts General Hospital and forensic psychiatry at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

With dual board certifications from the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology in Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry, Dr. Baskin's expertise is widely recognized in the medical community. His commitment to excellence and patient-centered care has made him a highly sought-after psychiatrist in the Cleveland area.

Passionate about teaching, he serves as an Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. His dedication to education and patient care has earned him a reputation as a leader in the field of forensic psychiatry.

On a personal note, Dr. Baskin resides in Cleveland with his wife, four children, and two beloved dogs. When he is not providing compassionate care to his patients, Dr. Baskin enjoys spending quality time with his family and fervently cheering on the Cleveland Browns, dreaming of a Super Bowl victory for his beloved team.
