He remained at Baylor College to complete his internship and then a residency in Dermatology prior to entering his association with Austin Dermcare which has lasted for nearly three decades now. Dr. Schaefer is board certified in Dermatology, and his vast experience and expertise in this area means that he diagnoses and treats a very wide range of conditions relating to the skin. These include acne, contact dermatitis, rosacea, and actinic keratosis. Expert procedures carried out by him range from the destruction of both benign and malignant skin lesions, and many forms of skin surgery. Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin, nails, hair and its diseases. It is a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects.
