Serving as a board-certified orthopedic and sports medicine surgeon at the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute, Dr. Levy has earned a reputation for his expertise in handling complex knee and hip injuries. However, his journey to becoming a leading specialist in his field is a unique one, marked by personal experiences that have shaped his empathetic and patient-centered approach to medicine.

His extensive expertise encompasses a wide range of specialties, including knee dislocation and multi-ligament knee reconstruction, primary/revision hip arthroscopy, ACL revision reconstruction, and meniscus transplantation. 

With over 20 years of experience under his belt, Dr. Levy’s ability to connect with his patients goes beyond his clinical knowledge; it is rooted in his own journey of resilience. By the age of 20, he had already undergone a staggering 17 orthopedic operations.

Academically, he earned his medical degree from the University of Montreal and honed his surgical skills during a residency in orthopedic surgery at the renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. His commitment to excellence led him to pursue a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at the Minneapolis Sports Medicine Center, further deepening his understanding of sports-related injuries and treatments.

As a testament to his success, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
Committed to staying at the forefront of his field, he is an active member of prestigious organizations such as the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery, and Orthopedic Sports Medicine.
Prior to joining the Orlando Health team, Dr. Levy made invaluable contributions at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he served as a professor of orthopedics and consultant to the Division of Sports Medicine Surgery. Additionally, he held the role of program director for the Mayo Clinic Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship, and his dedication to advancing the field is evident in his work as the principal investigator for several multi-center trials funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Defense.

As a leading authority in the realm of orthopedics, he has chaired numerous symposia and instructional course lectures on complex knee and hip injuries. His influence extends beyond the operating room, as he also serves as a consultant for the NBA and NHL Players Associations, as well as a dedicated team physician for the U.S. Snowboard Team.

An avid researcher, Dr. Levy has served as a reviewer and editorial board member for numerous medical journals. He has published over 300 papers in the scientific literature, a testament to his commitment to advancing medical knowledge. His influence is not limited to the United States, as he lectures extensively both nationally and internationally, sharing his expertise with the global medical community.
