Dr. Kari Lynn Purcott, MD, FACOG, is a board certified obstetrician-gynecologist at Pacific View OB/GYN, a Clinic of Tri-City Healthcare District in Carlsbad, California. Her journey into the field of medicine was fueled by her innate desire to help others and was solidified by personal experiences that shaped her dedication to the well-being of her patients.

With a commitment to nurturing the health and happiness of women at every stage of life, Dr. Purcott welcomes patients ranging from adolescents to those in their golden years, ensuring that each individual receives the specialized care they deserve. With a particular affinity for supporting expectant mothers, she has had the privilege of delivering thousands of babies, making each birth a momentous occasion filled with compassion and expertise.

Having honed her skills through years of rigorous education and training, Dr. Purcott is a proud alumna of the University of Southern California, where she pursued her undergraduate studies on an academic scholarship. She later earned her Medical Degree from the esteemed University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine in 2005, followed by a comprehensive residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Kaiser Permanente Southern California (Los Angeles) from 2005 to 2009.

As a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG) and a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Purcott upholds the highest standards of medical excellence in her practice. Her patient-centric philosophy revolves around building genuine connections with those in her care, fostering an atmosphere of trust and understanding where each patient is valued as a unique individual, not just a medical case.

Reflecting on her inspiring journey into the field of medicine, Dr. Purcott shares, “I describe my decision to become a physician as “being struck by cupid’s arrow.” It’s a great story I love to tell as my life truly did a 180 degree pivot!!
