Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. Ankila Chandran, who serves the Marlton, New Jersey area as an outpatient psychiatrist. Dr. Chandran received her doctorate in communications at the University of Southern California and then continued her studies with a medical degree from the Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine. Later, Dr. Chandran completed her residency in psychiatry at the UMDNJ-School of Osteopathic Medicine in New Jersey. She is board certified in general psychiatry through the American College of Osteopathic Neurology and Psychiatry and holds a New Jersey state medical license through 2019. Currently, Dr. Chandran works only in an outpatient setting at Center For Family Guidance in Marlton, New Jersey, and she has been affiliated with several local hospitals, including Jefferson Stratford Hospital, Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, and Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County. Dr. Chandran has been in practice for over fifteen years and dedicates her career to her patients’ well-being. Throughout her practice, she diagnoses and treats mental illness, such as depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, and schizophrenia. Most psychiatrists like Dr. Chandran rely on a mix of medications and psychotherapy. She ensures that all of her patients are treated well and that they receive the most up-to-date treatments. To stay current in the field, Dr. Chandran maintains a professional membership with the American Osteopathic Association. As a psychiatrist, Dr. Chandran diagnoses and treats mental illnesses.
