With over 41 years of experience practicing clinical and academic rheumatology, Dr. Forman serves as a Professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Medicine. He specializes in arthritis and rheumatic diseases, and was honored by Health Care Quarterly Magazine with a Top Doctor Award in the Rheumatology category in 2020.

Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Forman graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1973. He then went on to complete his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in rheumatology at the SUNY Downstate Health Science Center in 1978 and 1979, respectively.
Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in rheumatology and internal medicine through the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, which is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults.
Achieving fellowship status, he is a Founding Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology (FACR), a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), and a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internists (FACOI).
With particular interests in clinical rheumatology, ethics and professionalism, and end of life issues, Dr. Forman continues to lecture in these areas locally and nationally. He also served as the Founding Dean of the Touro University Nevada Osteopathic College of Medicine in Henderson.
Rheumatology is a branch of medicine devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases. Physicians who have undergone formal training in rheumatology are called rheumatologists. Rheumatologists treat arthritis, autoimmune diseases and osteoporosis.
