Originally from India, Dr. Obaray earned his medical degree from the Grant Medical College in 1972. After relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at the St. Francis Medical Center in 1978. Finally, he completed his fellowship in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine at the Queens Hospital Center in 1980, where he served as Chief Resident and Senior Fellow.

An authority in his field, the doctor is board-certified in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Maintaining fellowship status, he is a Fellow of both the College of Chest Physicians (FCCP), and the American College of Physicians (FACP).

Before becoming an integral part of Capital Health – Pulmonology Specialists, Dr. Obaray accumulated over 30 years of invaluable experience in private practice in Hamilton, New Jersey. His ability to navigate the diverse landscape of pulmonary disorders, from the management of asthma and COPD to addressing the complexities of lung cancer and interstitial lung disease, showcases a seasoned practitioner dedicated to improving the respiratory well-being of his patients.
