Pertaining to his educational pursuis, he graduated with his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 1987, before completing his residency in dermatology at the same educational venue in 1991.
Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in dermatology and Mohs micrographic surgery through the American Board of Dermatology, which is a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology.
Maintaining fellowship status, Dr. Lugo is a Fellow of both the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (FASDS) and the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD). He is also an active member of the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons.
