Get to know General & Cosmetic Dentist Dr. Vijaya Prabhu, who serves patients in California.

Dr. Prabhu, known to her patients as Dr. V, is a general & cosmetic dentist who is currently serving patients’ dental needs at her private dental practices in California – El Norte Family Dental in Escondido & Westview Dental Office in San Diego. She has a passion for treating patients of all ages from 4 years to senior citizens. Her practice includes all aspects of dentistry, including endodontics, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, TMJ disorders, and sleep apnea appliances. Dr. Prabhu is committed to providing patient care with an emphasis on preventive and conservative dentistry. 

Dr. Prabhu is an active member and a fellow of the prestigious International Congress of Implantology (ICOI), the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), the American Dental Association (ADA), the California Dental Association (CDA), and the San  Diego County Dental Society (SDCDS). She also volunteers at the Free Clinic-UCSD.

Dr. Prabhu earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Loma Linda School of Dentistry in Loma Linda, California in 1990. She continuously updates her skills by attending continuing education courses in excess of 200 hours annually in the fields of general, implant, and cosmetic dentistry.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. As a general & cosmetic dentist, Dr. Prabhu has the skills needed to complete an array of procedures that are both simple or complex in nature. 

Dr. Prabhu is married and lives in North County. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, practicing yoga and pilates, as well as traveling.
