Dr. Michael Ambrose is a distinguished Family Physician serving patients throughout the State of Florida. With a career spanning decades, Dr. Ambrose has amassed a wealth of experience and expertise. His journey began with service in the United States Navy, where he honed his skills as a Damage Control Assistant and later as a Flight Surgeon, certified in Aerospace Medicine. After retiring from the Navy, he continued to excel, contributing significantly as an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. Now, at the University of West Florida's Student Health Services, Dr. Ambrose remains dedicated to providing exceptional care and guidance to students.

Locally, he holds privileges at Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital and serves as a hospitalist at Jupiter Medical Center.
Growing up on the island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr Ambrose earned an academic scholarship to study at Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois, after completing secondary school. He then received the presidential scholarship to the College of Medicine at Chicago, University of Illinois.
After medical school, Dr. Ambrose completed his residency at Jackson Memorial hospital, after which he earned his Master of Public Health Degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1989.
An authority in his field, the doctor is board certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.
On a professional level, Dr. Ambrose is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and a member of the Aerospace Medical Association.
Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor.
