Could I be pregnant?
Good morning, I would urge you to see a physician for back up birth control and use condoms to prevent sexually transmitted diseases and prevent pregnancy. If the bleeding truly was your period, then this is not a time pregnancy can occur. Protect yourself and use condoms. Michelle Harden, MD FACOG READ MORE
I have missed my period and the pregnancy test is negative. What could be wrong?
If you have not been using contraception, then this does put you at risk for pregnancy. However, most urine pregnancy tests are very sensitive. It is not uncommon in times of stress or change in routine to not ovulate and hence miss a period. If you are unsure, repeating the test is a good idea. If you do not have a period within the next 30 days and your repeat pregnancy test remains negative, I would see your Ob/Gyn. They will rule out other potential concerns. I hope this was helpful.
