Get to know Dermatologist Dr. Sharon Kim, who serves patients throughout the State of Texas.
Dr. Kim is a board-certified dermatologist affiliated with Clear Lake Dermatology in League City, Texas, and Cypress Dermatology in Cypress, Texas. She truly cares about her patients and the field of dermatology. Ever since she was young, she wanted to become a dermatologist because she experienced as a child the physical and mental impact of having a dermatological condition. For her, becoming a skilled dermatologist was her lifetime goal.
The expert team of board-certified dermatologists and skilled aestheticians at Clear Lake Dermatology specialize in a wide variety of medical and cosmetic skin care services. In a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere, they diagnose, treat, and manage certain skin conditions and their associated symptoms, such as acne, eczema, melasma, vitiligo, and warts. Patients can also benefit from several body contouring procedures, which tone and slim the body and face, such as FaceTite.
Cypress Dermatology is an elite team of board-certified dermatologists that expertly diagnose and treat all conditions of your skin, hair, and nails. Our residency and fellowship-trained dermatologists are professionals in the fields of medical, surgical, cosmetic, and pediatric dermatology. They conduct skin cancer screenings, care for skin conditions including acne and rosacea, psoriasis, eczema, hair loss, and others, as well as diagnose and treat rare and challenging dermatologic conditions.
Growing up in Clear Lake (Houston), Dr. Kim received all of her higher education and medical training in Texas. She graduated #1/summa cum laude at Clear Lake High School, and went to the University of Texas at Austin, where she received the Presidential Award and graduated with high honors. She came back to Houston to attend Baylor College of Medicine for her medical degree and internship. For her residency in dermatology, she trained at UT Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she was the Chief Resident and worked with world renowned dermatologists.
Distinguished as a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD), the doctor attained board certification in dermatology through the American Board of Dermatology, which is a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology.
Continuously advancing her efforts, Dr. Kim is an active member of the Houston Dermatological Society, and the Texas Dermatological Society. She is grateful for the privilege to care for patients of all ages with skin conditions ranging from skin cancers to cosmetic concerns. Her approach is to treat her patients with individualized, tailored treatment plans.
Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin. The skin is the largest organ of the body. Dermatology is a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. A dermatologist is a specialist doctor who manages skin diseases and deals with both internal and external causes and some cosmetic concerns involving the skin. Dermatological duties include taking consultations, providing screening tests, and undertaking non-invasive surgical procedures.
When she is not taking care of patients, Dr. Kim enjoys traveling the world, trying out new restaurants, reading books, and spending time with her friends and family. She is always open to getting recommendations on restaurants, books, and podcasts from her patients.
