Back in 1978, Dr. Carter-Miller received her medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. She then went on to complete her internship and residency in family medicine at the Methodist Hospital in 1981.

Subsequent to her education, the doctor attained board-certification in family medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice family medicine and its sub-specialties.
