Get to know Dentist Dr. Janeen B. Ferraro, who serves patients in Shrewsbury, New Jersey. Dr. Ferraro is a practicing dentist at Ocean Dental in Shrewsbury, New Jersey. Dr. Ferraro and her staff believe that educated patients are happy patients, which is why they take the time to educate and involve each patient in every step of their treatment. Dr. Ferraro grew up in the Jersey Shore area. She attended college at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University and then completed post graduate training at Overlook Hospital in Summit. After completing a general practice residency, Dr. Ferraro maintained her affiliation with Overlook Hospital as an attending dentist for 6 years. She is now actively involved as an attending staff dentist at Monmouth Medical Center, a not-for-profit, 527-bed, regional tertiary care teaching hospital located in Long Branch, New Jersey. The mission of the Center is: to meet the health care needs of their community by providing cost-effective quality care; to educate present and future generations of health care providers; as well as to provide a continuum of regional tertiary care. Dr. Ferraro is a current member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the New Jersey Dental Association, and the Monmouth-Ocean Dental Society. Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. With vast expertise in her field, Dr. Ferraro specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating diseases and conditions associated with the mouth and overall dental health. She participates in a local study club to earn continuing education credits and stay current with the latest techniques and technology offered in the field of Dentistry. Dr. Ferraro lives at the Middlesex/Monmouth County border with her husband and two sons. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and being involved in the local community.
