Born in Montreal, Canada, Dr. Goldstein graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University in 1968. Following his surgical residency at the Royal Victoria Hospital, he did a fellowship in the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at UCLA. 

He was appointed to the Director of Surgical Training at St. Mary Medical Center – Long Beach and an Associate Professorship at UCLA. He served as the Chief of the Medical Staff at St. Mary’s from 1989 until 1992.

In 2005, Dr. Goldstein became aware of the dramatic improvement in the diagnosis and treatment of venous disease. As a response to this pressing need for a dedicated venous disease facility, he opened Vein Clinic CA.

Having been in practice for over five decades, he is board-certified in surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.
