Dr. Germosen is a trusted psychiatrist with over 30 years of experience in her field. She is affiliated with Rockford Center, which is a behavioral health facility in Newark, Delaware that provides psychiatric, substance abuse, and geriatric services.

As Delaware’s first private behavioral health hospital, Rockford Center has been providing behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment to individuals and families in Delaware and the surrounding region since 1974. The 138-bed facility offers easy access to a wide range of inpatient behavioral health care and day treatment programs for children, teens, adults, and seniors, in addition to a substance use disorder intensive outpatient program for adults.

Rockford Center’s mission is to provide outstanding healthcare services that are consistently trauma responsive, empowering and respectful. This important mission is accomplished by working in partnership with individuals, families, healthcare providers, and other community stakeholders to meet the needs of patients.

A 1990 graduate of the Santo Domingo Institute of Technology – School of Medicine, Dr. Germosen relocated to the United States to further her training. She performed her Psychiatric Residency Education and Training Program in  New York City, in a combined program with New York Presbyterian Hospital and  Creedmoor Psychiatric Center (class of 2012), which is a component of the Department of Medical Education at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. 

Licensed to practice medicine in New York, Delaware, and Pennsylvania, the doctor is a member of the American Psychiatric Association (APA). The APA is the main professional organization of psychiatrists and trainee psychiatrists in the United States, and the largest psychiatric organization in the world.

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. Psychiatrists evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders based on a biopsychosocial foundation. They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, psychotherapy (CBT/DBT, Psychodynamic and supportive approach), and evaluate treatment results.
